I have assembled my annual ex-Blue Jays off-season transaction tracker.

My goal has been to try to capture all of the transactions involving former Blue Jays – from big name free agent departures to ex-Jays that quietly sign minor league deals or contracts to play in the foreign ranks.

So, here it is. This will be my final update for the 2024-25 off-season.

Former pitching coach Brad Arnsberg has been named a coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Arizona Complex League team.

INF/OF Franklin Barreto signed a minor league deal with the Baltimore Orioles on November 25. Barreto was an infield prospect for the Blue Jays who was traded to the Oakland A’s as part of the package for Josh Donaldson on November 28, 2014. Barreto has been invited to O’s major league camp this spring.

UTIL Jon Berti signed a one-year, $2-million contract with the Chicago Cubs on January 22. The deal includes $1.3 million in performance bonuses, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

RHP Phil Bickford, who was selected in the first round (10th overall) by the Blue Jays in 2013 but did not sign with them, inked a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs on November 22. He has been invited to major league spring training.

UTIL Cavan Biggio signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals on January 5. The deal includes an invite to major league spring training.

RHP Dave Bush was named assistant pitching coach of the Texas Rangers on November 25.

LHP Matthew Boyd signed a two-year, $29-million contract with the Chicago Cubs on December 1. The contract includes $1 million in performance bonuses.

LHP Genesis Cabrera signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets on November 27. The deal includes an invite to big league spring training.

Former RHP David Carpenter has been named manager of the Miami Marlins’ triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

RHP Jesse Chavez signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on January 27. The deal includes an invite to major league spring training.

Former LHP Tim Collins, who pitched four seasons in the Blue Jays’ organization from 2007 to 2010, has been named pitching coach of the Philadelphia Phillies’ class-A Jersey Shore BlueClaws.

RHP José Cuas signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on January 14. He has been invited to MLB spring training.

C Travis d’Arnaud signed a two-year, $12-million contract with the Los Angeles Angels on November 12. D’Arnaud spent three seasons in the Blue Jays’ organization from 2010 to 2012 after being acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies as part of the package for Roy Halladay.

RHP Brett de Geus was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates on January 15 for cash considerations.

INF Brandon Drury was signed to a minor league deal by the Chicago White Sox on February 7. The deal includes an invite to major league spring training.

INF Luis De Los Santos was claimed off waivers by the New York Mets on November 4. He was designated for assignment on January 31. He has since been outrighted to the triple-A Syracuse Mets.

LHP Brandon Eisert was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays on January 23 for cash considerations. He was claimed off waivers from the Rays by the Chicago White Sox on February 7.

C Sal Fasano was named assistant pitching coach of the Los Angeles Angels on November 12.

Former LHP Ryan Feierabend, who pitched in two games for the Blue Jays in 2019, has been named pitching coach of the Miami Marlins’ class-A Jupiter Hammerheads.

RHP Kendall Graveman, who appeared in five games for the Blue Jays in 2014, signed a one-year, $1.35-million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks on February 17.

OF Randal Grichuk re-signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on February 4. The deal is a one-year contract that includes a base salary of $2 million for 2025 and a $5 million mutual option for 2026.

Former assistant hitting coach Matt Hague was officially named the hitting coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates on November 21.

RHP Thomas Hatch signed with the Korea Baseball Organziation’s (KBO) Doosan Bears on November 18. It was reportedly a one-year, $1-million contract. The Bears later voided his contract due to concerns about his physical. He signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals on February 7. The deal includes an invite to major league spring training.

OF Teoscar Hernandez re-signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on January 3, 2025. It’s a three-year, $66-million contract.

INF Spencer Horwitz was traded to the Cleveland Guardians as part of the package for infielder Andres Gimenez on December 10. The Guardians then flipped him to the Pittsburgh Pirates for right-hander Luis Ortiz and two minor league prospects.

C Danny Jansen signed a one-year, $8.5-million contract with the Tampa Bay Rays on December 6.

Former OF Kevin Kiermaier was hired by the Toronto Blue Jays to be a special assistant on February 8.

LHP Yusei Kikuchi signed a three-year, $63-million contract with the Los Angeles Angels on November 25.

INF/OF Rafael Lantigua signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on January 14. He has been invited to big league spring training.

Former Blue Jays OF/DH Adam Lind has been named the hitting coach of the Philadelphia Phillies’ triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

LHP Zach Logue, who was a ninth round pick of the Blue Jays in 2017, signed a one-year, $800,000 with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) on December 18.

OF Jake Marisnick, who was a third round pick of the Blue Jays in 2009, signed a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves on February 12.

INF Mason McCoy, who played six games with the Blue Jays in 2023, signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres on December 5. He has been invited to major league spring training.

Former Vancouver Canadians and Dunedin Blue Jays manager Clayton McCullough was named manager of the Miami Marlins on November 11.

C Reese McGuire signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs on January 22. He has been invited to major league spring training.

First-base coach Dave McKay (Vancouver, B.C.) will return to the Arizona Diamondbacks for his 12th season with the club. It will be his 55th season in pro baseball as a player or coach.

LHP Brian Moran, who had two relief appearances for the Blue Jays in 2020, signed a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves on December 17.

Former catcher Julio Mosquera will return to his role as catching coordinator in the Chicago White Sox organization.

RHP Patrick Murphy, who made a combined 12 relief appearances for the Blue Jays in 2020 and 2021, signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on December 23.

Former INF Gift Ngoepe has been named bench coach of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ class-A Visalia Rawhide.

LHP Thomas Pannone signed a minor league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers on November 25.

C Carlos Perez, who spent parts of five seasons in the Blue Jays’ organization from 2008 to 2012, signed a minor league contract with the Cubs on December 17. He has been invited to major league spring training.

OF Kevin Pillar signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on February 23.

Former catcher Guillermo Quiroz has been named manager of the Chicago White Sox double-A Birmingham Barons.

OF Harold Ramirez, who played parts of three minor league seasons with the Blue Jays’ double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats (2016 to 2018), signed with the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos of the Mexican League on February 24.

RHP Trevor Richards signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs on January 20. He has been invited to minor league spring training.

RHP Jordan Romano signed a one-year, $8.5-million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on December 9.

OF Anthony Sanders will return as the Baltimore Orioles’ first base coach in 2025. The Orioles announced their 2025 staff on November 25.

Former right-hander Sergio Santos has been named manager of the Chicago White Sox triple-A Charlotte Knights.

Former outfielder Michael Saunders (Victoria, B.C.) has accepted a position as a roving outfield instructor with the Seattle Mariners.

Former hitting coach Kevin Seitzer was named the hitting coach of the Seattle Mariners on November 25.

C Brian Serven signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers on December 16. The deal includes an invite to major league spring training.

OF Garrett Spain, who was taken in the 15th round of the 2021 MLB draft by the Blue Jays and had spent four seasons in the organization, was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the Rule 5 draft on December 11.

Former RHP and Blue Jays assistant GM Dave Stewart was hired as a special assistant to player development by the Oakland A’s on January 22.

RHP Curtis Taylor (Port Coquitlam, B.C.), who pitched in double-A and triple-A in the Blue Jays’ organization in 2021, signed a minor league deal with the St. Louis Cardinals on February 9.

INF/OF Samad Taylor, who played parts of five seasons in the Blue Jays’ organization from 2017 to 2022, was outrighted off the Seattle Mariners’ 40-man roster on January 21. He cleared waivers and has been assigned to Triple-A Tacoma.

1B/DH Rowdy Tellez signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on February 21.

INF/DH Justin Turner signed a one-year, $6-million contract with the Chicago Cubs on February 18.

3B Gio Urshela signed a one-year contract with the A’s on December 19. Financial details were not disclosed, but it’s believed to be a major league deal.

1B/DH Daniel Vogelbach was hired by the Pittsburgh Pirates as a special assistant to the hitting department on February 12.

RHP Jacob Waguespack re-signed with the Tampa Bay Rays on November 4. He signed a one-year, $1.3-million contract that includes a $1.5-million club option for 2026.

OF Forrest Wall, who played in double-A and triple-A in the Blue Jays’ organization in 2019 and 2021, signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres on February 7. The deal includes an invite to major league spring training.

RHP Mitch White signed with the KBO’s SSG Landers on November 15. It is reportedly a one-year, $1-million contract.

INF Chris Woodward was named the Los Angeles Dodgers’ first base coach on November 22.

RHP Kirby Yates signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on January 21.
