Official Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame News Release
St. Marys, Ont. – The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is excited to announce that it will open for the season on Wednesday, May 3.
“On behalf of our board of directors and our staff, I’m looking forward to opening our doors once again to celebrate the rich history of baseball in this country,” said Scott Crawford, the Hall’s director of operations. “When the doors open, it will mark the start of our 26th season in St. Marys.”
Visitors to the museum will notice several new artifacts on display, including:
-A “Canadian All-Time Offensive Greats” display that includes game-used equipment from the careers of Canadian sluggers Larry Walker (Maple Ridge, B.C.) and Joey Votto (Etobicoke, Ont.).
-The 1997 National League Cy Young Award won by Montreal Expos pitcher Pedro Martinez. This is the only Cy Young Award ever won by an Expos pitcher.
-A display devoted to Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson (Corunna, Ont.) who became the first full-time Canadian manager in the big leagues since George Gibson (London, Ont.) with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1934. Thomson managed the Phillies to the National League pennant in 2022.
-A Toronto Blue Jays locker display with artifacts from the 2022 season, including a jersey worn by Canadian closer Jordan Romano (Markham, Ont.) on Jackie Robinson Day and a base used in Game 1 of the Blue Jays’ Wild Card Series against the Seattle Mariners. The ball Zach Pop (Brampton, Ont.) threw for his first playoff strikeout is also on display.
-Game-used items from Canadian major leaguers who made their big league debuts in 2022, including Matt Brash (Kingston, Ont.), Charles Leblanc (Laval, Que.), Bo Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) and Jared Young (Prince George, B.C.)
-An umpire indicator used by Shanna Kook (Toronto, Ont.), who became the first female Canadian umpire to work in the minor professional ranks when she did so in the Pioneer League (Class-A) in 2003.
-A St. Louis Cardinals jersey worn by two-time Gold Glove Award-winning left fielder Tyler O’Neill (Maple Ridge, B.C.) in the 2019 season.
-Artifacts from the careers of 2023 inductees Jesse Barfield, Rich Harden (Victoria, B.C.), Denis Boucher (Lachine, Que.) and Joe Wiwchar (Winnipeg, Man.), as well as 2020 inductees John Olerud and Jacques Doucet (Montreal, Que.) who will also be honoured this June.
“We’re proud to share these new artifacts,” said Crawford. “They help us continue to shine the spotlight on the great accomplishments by Canadians and Canadian teams to the game of baseball.”
Renovated in 2018, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum also houses dozens of other one-of-a-kind artifacts. The museum features interactive exhibits, a gift shop and the Centre for Canadian Baseball Research, the country’s leading baseball resource centre.
The facility also offers rental space, including the R. Howard Webster Foundation Visitors Lounge, which overlooks King Field, and is ideal for work, team and personal events and functions for up to 55 people. For information about how your group can host an event at the museum, click HERE.
The museum is also located on a picturesque 32-acre site that includes outdoor walking trails and four premier baseball fields.
Museum Hours
May 3 to June 30 – Wednesdays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
July 1 to August 31 – Seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
September 1 to September 30 – Fridays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Children 8 and under: Free
Family (2 adults; 2 kids): $35
Groups of 10 or more: $9 each person
