The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will be on the red carpet in Toronto as Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present, a Legendary Pictures Production, and the Brian Helgeland film, “42.”

Academy Award® winner Brian Helgeland (“L.A. Confidential”) wrote and directed the drama “42” starring Chadwick Boseman (“The Express”) as Jackie Robinson and Oscar® nominee Harrison Ford (“Witness”) as Branch Rickey.

Hero is a word we hear often in sports, but heroism is not always about achievements on the field of play. “42” tells the story of two men—the great Jackie Robinson and legendary Brooklyn Dodgers GM Branch Rickey—whose brave stand against prejudice forever changed the world by changing the game of baseball.

The premieres take place on Wednesday, April 3 and 10 at the Scotiabank Theatre on Richmond Street in Toronto, Ont. The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame will bring a unique Jackie Robinson display to the red carpet that will celebrate Robinson’s trailblazing 1946 season with the Montreal Royals. The collection includes a 1946 Montreal Royals team signed baseball, a base from Exhibition Stadium in Toronto representing the 40th Anniversary of Robinson’s debut autographed by Blue Jays manager Jimy Williams, a 1996 photo album from the Triple-A Ottawa Lynx that honoured the 50th anniversary of Robinson breaking baseball’s colour barrier and several rare photos.

Canadian Baseball Hall of Famers Rocky Nelson (1952 & 1956 in Brooklyn) and Tommy Lasorda (1954-55 in Brooklyn) played with Robinson, as did Canadians Jean-Pierre Roy (1946 in Montreal) and Johnny Rutherford (1952 in Brooklyn).

The movie “42” opens to the public on Friday, April 12. To learn more about the movie, click HERE.
