On July 29, 1985, a hard-throwing, 6-foot-5, bespectacled right-hander named Tom Henke emerged from the Blue Jays’ bullpen for the first time. 

Remembering the last game at Exhibition Stadium 36 years ago today

It was a dramatic and fitting end for the Toronto Blue Jays at Exhibition Stadium. Thirty-six years ago today, on an 0-and-1 count in the bottom of the 10th inning, George Bell belted a fastball from Chicago White Sox closer Bobby Thigpen into the left field bleachers for a two-run home run to give the Blue Jays a 7-5 walk-off victory.

April 24, 1977 – Fergie Jenkins threw the first shutout against the Blue Jays at Exhibition Stadium

It seems fitting that Fergie Jenkins, the greatest Canadian pitcher, was the first to toss a shutout against the Toronto Blue Jays in a regular season game. He did it 48 years ago today.
